> **Cons**: That the task updates don't link to the obligation itself. Stakeholders update their task with their docs/comments and it doesn't update the main obligation, so requires a manual download and then reupload along with comment to update and have clear audit trail

> Before deploying the CoreStream Information Asset Manager system, information assets were just a collection of information with no real added business benefits. Having the system in place means that we are achieving maximum value from information assets. There is now complete visibility over our information assets, what they are used for and the risks surrounding them. This is embedded in a structure of accountable roles , ensuring it is easy to manage and report on. With the decommissioning function you have a full audit trail of the asset lifecycle. The system is very user friendly which makes engagement with stakeholders a lot easier. As an IG Lead is absolutely unthinkable now to work without the system. If the organisation needs to know if all major information assets are covered by a business continuity plan the system can provide a quick answer. Do you need to know if you have any data flows flowing outside the EEA? Again, the system provides a quick and easy answer. The Information Asset Owners will however still be engaged in the whole lifecycle of their information assets and any review or changes the IAO will need to approve.  Although built as a risk system it delivers much more than a simple risk management tool; it delivers visibility, accountability and drives the culture change required to fully embed the organisation's information asset management strategy.  CoreStream's excellent customer service and their 'can do' approach means that whenever your organisation wants to enhance the system by adding additional processes (such as policy management, work flows etc) it can be implemented quickly and tailored to the organisation's needs.
