This means it is feature rich and the support team are very efficient whenever I have needed them. I love the principles and concepts behind the software - single sourcing means that you write once and build multiple outputs based on the same technical content. Source control means you can back up your repository and there are many configuration options that integrate seamlessly. Flare online makes it easy to publish and host your own online help sites. The licence fee is also reasonable considering the capabilities of the software. > > **Cons**: There is a steep learning curve at first, but as with most things in life and work, it is worth investing the effort because when you eventually master it you'll be a valuable professional. Some UI issues should be ironed out. Like an ability to customize the order of icons in the quick access toolbar. > > Flare is the best tool in the business. I've been using it for over a decade now and am proud to work with it daily. There is a steep learning curve at first, if you're lucky like I was you can get a senior writer to train you up early in your career. MadCap also put on online training courses for beginner, intermediate and advanced users to get up to speed on features you can use. These are excellent, I've done them all and as you might exect, the documentation and training material is also top notch, really handy for future reference. I find it to be user firendly, and there are different ways to use the editor view your work, either WYSIWYG or the text editor. You can even view both side by side. It makes it relatively easy to produce some impressive and gorgeous online help sites from the ground up in Flare, with complimentary PDFs based on the same content. I have done this and by no means do I have a coding background.
