About Total Dental
Total Dental is a web-based electronic health records (EHR) and practice management solution for small dental offices, large groups, and Dental Service Organizations (DSOs). The system includes tools for appointment scheduling, patient charting, e-prescribing, billing, reporting, and more.
Total Dental’s tooth charting module allows users to record primary, permanent, or mixed dentition, along with any proposed, completed, or existing restoration work in a 3D graphic display. CDT codes are available in dashboard format, with users automatically alerted of errors in charting or coding when improper teeth, surfaces, or mouth areas are selected for restoration. Charted items are presented in a grid format below the chart, with tooth numbers, surfaces, procedure descriptions, coding, and fees, and can be edited if necessary. Routine services can be grouped into custom bundles to reduce the amount of time required for charting. Periodontal charts are also included for recording mobility, bleeding, probing depths, furcation grades, gingival margins, bone loss, and plaque, and graphical views allow records from different dates to be compared.
Total Dental offers a range of billing tools, including automatic checking of insurance eligibility and benefits, real-time payment processing, clearinghouse integration, automatic insurance claim creation, customizable patient statements, automated code mapping, and more. Total Dental also includes e-prescribing tools which can be used with over 65000 pharmacies, and automatically check for any interactions between prescribed drugs, or with patient allergies.

The functionality for the Doctor is not there with this software. We have tried to log in sometimes, and it has taken us to a hosting page. Buttons that are supposed to be there according to the help pages just aren't there. Software doesn't seem to be finished. It seems like we are testing it or in the testing stage.
I like the way the product looks. Visually it is better than a lot of dental software products. I love that all the navigation buttons are within the patients chart.
There are a lot of buttons missing that are supposed to be there. Seems like they change it as we go along with each complaint.
