About 1Password
1Password is a secure, enterprise password manager helping businesses improve security, visibility and control over how their passwords and company data are protected.
Our password management and credentials security platform is trusted by over 100,000 businesses, including IBM, Slack, Snowflake, Shopify, and Under Armour. 1Password protects the most sensitive information of millions of individuals and families across the globe, helping consumers and businesses get more done in less time – without compromising security and privacy.
Businesses can enforce strong, integrated security policies at scale, be proactive about cybersecurity threats to reduce risk, and quickly and easily generate detailed reports on password security posture.
We’re the only password manager that can say with full confidence your secrets will remain safe in the unlikely event of a breach. 1Password’s unique Two-Key-Derivation using the combination of an account password and Secret Key (128-bit, machine-generated code) means nobody could decrypt the data in the unlikely case they were able to access it.
Deployment is easy no matter the size of your business. You can invite people individually by email address or send a sign-up link to everyone. If you use 1Password Business and manage your team using a supported identity provider, you can automatically provision new team members from your IdP using the 1Password SCIM Bridge. If you’re already using a password management solution, migration from your existing solution is easy with simple import tools.
Our team is on hand and ready to give you the tailored guidance and support you need to make onboarding or switching solutions as easy as possible. We support the adoption of 1Password across your organization at no extra cost, offering simple import tools, guided-onboarding, support documentation to deploy quickly, and training initiatives to get employees up and running with ease.

Pros
1Password is a solid password manager that's available pretty much everywhere. It's been my manager of choice for quite a while after my last job covered licenses for the whole company. In addition to passwords, it also manages identities and payment methods, which makes filling forms out a breeze.
Since leaving that job, I went ahead and sprung for the individual license. Things have been fine up until recently, with their push to 1Password 7. They are clearly trying to move lifetime licensees to a monthly subscription, and it's breaking the software for me in critical ways.
Cons
Despite having a license, the Chrome extension still only runs in "read-only mode" i.e. completed nerfed password tool. Recent updates has made this significantly worse than other password managers on the market. I would have given up long ago had I not already paid for it.
Here's an example: Want to create a 1Password account on desktop to sync and save passwords? First sign in on web! Oh, you'll need an account to sign in. Don't have an account? View this FAQ. The FAQ says, enter your secret key. Oh, the Mac version doesn't have a secret key? Looks like you have the wrong version! You need the membership, which costs a monthly fee. And, surprise, now your extension is in read only mode, hope you don't mind we took that away.
I don't know if it's their weird decision to fork the Mac app store version from 1Password 6/7 (a move done to extract more money from monthly subscriptions, I'm sure), how they are handling the vault syncing with external services or WHAT, but this once solid tool is growing stale, fast.

Hi Jeremy Brand,
Thank you for reviewing 1Password!
I am sorry about the trouble with the Chrome extension. Please try to remove it and then install it using this link: https://1password.com/browsers
Let me know if that fixes the problem with the extension for you.
Thanks!

I love that I can trust 1Password to safely store all of our important information, and I fear for the day that I can't access the application anymore!
Pros
I love that it stores not only passwords, but also important informations such as registration numbers and credits cards. The shared vault features allows our team to easily share all important information in one central hub.
Cons
Sometimes the application will disconnect and not automatically suggest the passwords. The solve to this is just going to grab it and copying it manually from the application, but it is a bummer when it happens.

At its core, 1Password is a relatively simple tool and straightforward for administrators. Once employees get set up, we know that they'll be able to securely save their passwords and notes, along with credit card information, etc. Additionally, the two-factor authentication code generation is a big advantage when there is one set of credentials shared among multiple team members.
Pros
1Password does all of the basics well, including:
- Password generation
- Password saving/autofill
- Two-factor authentication
- Sharing of passwords and secure notes through a vault
It's easy to get up and running in 1Password, and we feel good knowing that user access and vault sharing can be customized and restricted easily.
Cons
The 1Password Google Chrome add-on is kind of hit or miss. It can be helpful and work properly most times, and sometimes just get in the way by making suggestions in text boxes that aren't applicable. They also haven't updated their interface of the admin portal in a while, and it can feel a little bit clunky/hard to navigate.
