About Findmyshift
Findmyshift is an online employee scheduling solution which enables organizations to manage their workforce with time-clocking, timesheets, shift reminders, real-time reporting, payroll calculations, time-off management, text messaging, and more. Timesheets and time clocking technology helps users track the hours their employees are actually working. Automated reports help users manage payroll and cost reporting.
Vacation management tools allow users to track employee vacations on their schedule to immediately see when employees are unavailable and calculate their remaining allowances. Users can generate accurate payroll data by combining employee timesheets, schedules, pay rates and overtime rates. Messages and notifications can be sent to employees via email, text message or push notification. Pending manager approval, employees can log in to request shifts, cancel shifts and swap shifts with their colleagues.
Automated shift reminders can be sent to employees the day before their shift, letting them know when and where they're working. Calendar integration allows users to access their staff roster from the calendar on their phone and set alarms for upcoming shifts. Use the private built-in noticeboard to post messages, upload documents and communicate with employees. All of the data sent between the user's browser and the Findmyshift server is encrypted using SSL, ensuring it stays private.

Simple to use, easily accessible

Pros
Ability to use it anywhere anytime, ease of use. Ability to communicate with staff members and trace all updates and changes
Cons
Its incompatibility with Apple devices. Makes it difficult to make changes on the move sometimes and it isn't always easy to use with touch screen

It's not the best rota software I have used, but for the price, its really good value for money.
The back end is complicated and difficult to get your head around, but once you do, you can truly use it as a one stop shop for everything. The front end for the user is wonderfully simple.
Pros
The mobile app simplicity really was key for us. We are a museum who work with a large number of volunteers, many of whom aren't computer literate and don't use their phones for anything other than calls or texts. We had to ensure that they could access the schedules easily and understand them
The messaging system is a lovely surprise and works well - as does the notice board.
We also like its flexibility to store extra facts and info, so over time it has changed from being just our scheduling software to our HR hub, with all our staffing information (vehicle info, references etc) and policies and procedures stored alongside our weekly team updates.
Cons
Some of the menus and reports are unnecessarily complicated with way too many options. Some of the office staff have struggle to gain access to the information they need. The reporting side is clumsy and difficult to use.
Some really simple, obvious changes can make a big difference but these changes don't seem to be being considered in any software changes to the program. For example, when looking on the mobile app, shifts are listed by the alphabetical order of first names rather than the actual times (or even the area!) of the shift. This is pretty ludicrous for a scheduling program.

Good for the purpose we are using, but very difficult to integrate other administrative services. You need multiple softwares to do an HR admin.
Pros
A relatively easy to use employee management and scheduling solution for a reasonable price. Ideal for small remote teams and for office environment.
Cons
Outdated platform design, some features are challenging to use. It is costly to use for multiple departments of the same company. No API connection to my understanding and no mobile access which makes it impossible to adapt in non-office like environment. Some reporting features missing, others are not useful for remote operations.

FindMyShift is excellent for getting everything done that you need - scheduling a lot of employees, flexible and easy to change pay rates, reporting and budget views. I even use it as a notice board - part of employee shifts I can leave notes with instructions for my workers, which is excellent.
The downside, and what may eventually push me to another service, is that I make all of the shift changes myself. Employees email me when they'd like to swap shifts and unfortunately this leaves me at the center of an ever increasing employee base that needs me to make detailed changes.
There is a Timesheet feature but it seems pretty complicated and wouldn't serve our purposes, although I'm considering taking a third look at this to see if it's really not possible for us to use.
