A superior collaborative workspace

The platform is accessible to anyone and has an open interface, letting our company set up collaborative spaces where staff can collaborate productively on a wide range of projects. It's reliable, and it made it easy to increase our property holdings. It may not be necessary to invest time and resources into teaching employees how to use Confluence because it may be extremely user-friendly.
Pros
Confluence's suite of team communication tools is crucial to any effort to increase output. It's a lot dependable and much cheaper than other options. It's essential equipment for anyone seeking total control over their team's overall performance.
Cons
It's a steep learning curve for our less tech-savvy customers to become proficient at working on our websites. The fact that the support staff is exclusively fluent in English may also be an inconvenience for some consumers. Integration with Azure DevOps is a little bit of a challenge.

My experience with Confluence was positive overall. I used it on my every project and it’s great for organizing and sharing knowledge, but it requires good structure and team discipline to avoid clutter.
Pros
Confluence makes it easy to organize, share, and find information. It’s a perfect place for our company projects knowledge base.
Cons
It can feel overwhelming at times, especially with too many pages or unclear organization. Also, some features can be tricky to use without proper training.

We use both Jira and confluence on our projects. Confluence was initially started on the project to replace word documents for programming specs and request. It was a mixed uptake due to higher learning curve over just word.
Pros
A adequate documentation system that can integrate with Jira issue/ticket system.
Cons
Not the best collaboration without adding in third party addins.

Confluence works well along with Jira for our development team.
Reviewed on 14/09/2024
Pros
For our development team, Confluence is an intuitive platform that just works!
It's easy to use, more performant than Sharepoint and has great Jira (the other essential tool we use for Agile project management) integration, given that both tools are from Atlassian.
Cons
Search accuracy needs to be improved. Page insights require additional licensing.

Over all is an OK experience for me, although I am a preacher of confluence usage in my company.
With improved searchability (simplify it using AI) and reducing the duplicates when entering the information, I will give 3 more points (that is 10/10)
Pros
Confluence has been a go to tool for managing the source of truth for all our projects. Encourages collaboration and brings the team together for working towards one source of truth.
Cons
Searchability (omg, its complicated) and overhead in reducing the duplicate information.
I wish there is a smart editor that stops the users from entering duplicate information as they are typing the info. Go AI

Essential tool for Team Knowledge and Collaboration

I’ve had a lot of experience with Confluence across different companies, and it’s honestly a solid tool for keeping everyone on the same page. We use it for everything—from creating knowledge base pages to updating new processes and sharing team-specific info. It’s where we keep our org charts, team updates, and pretty much any ‘what, why, and how’ documentation. It’s easy to organize things so anyone can jump in, find what they need, and get up to speed quickly. Overall, it’s been super useful for maintaining a central hub of info that keeps everyone connected and informed.
Pros
Every company I’ve worked at has used Confluence—it’s been super handy for creating knowledge base pages, updating new processes, sharing team-specific info, and organizing org charts. It’s basically the go-to spot for capturing the ‘what, why, and how’ of everything so the team or company is always in the loop
Cons
Nothing i could think off, its super easy to read and also being a editor i couldn't find any issues which is a big blocker.

I use Confluence almost every day and have explored many aspects of it. I wish I had known about it when I was a university student, since it's much more useful than OneNote in my opinion.
Pros
It is very customizable and has many integrations, but the basics of word processing are very quick and easy to use right away. Confluence is evidently on par with its competitors from the moment you start using it, and only gets more impressive the deeper you learn about it.
Cons
The 3rd party integrations are not always well-vetted. It would be nice to have the more popular ones built-in and supported as core features which can be enabled. It's also frustrating to have several markdown languages active within Atlassian products in different areas.

Overall, my experience with Confluence has been positive. It’s a solid tool for collaboration, bringing everyone onto the same page and making it easier to track projects, share ideas, and store resources. I appreciate how it centralizes information, reducing the back-and-forth of emails. However, there are some challenges with keeping content organized, especially as the workspace grows. A bit of planning is needed to make sure pages don’t get too cluttered or hard to navigate. With good organization practices, though, Confluence can be a powerful asset for team productivity.
Pros
Confluence is great because it brings everyone’s ideas and information into one organized space. I like how it feels like a virtual team hub where you can brainstorm, track projects, and access resources easily. Plus, it's simple to navigate and keeps things from getting lost in endless email chains!
Cons
The search function could definitely be more intuitive to help navigate large workspaces.

It is a great software for collaborating with your team and sharing information about projects or what have you. The project management the knowledge management are top tier. It can also be used for marketing which I haven't looked into too much yet, but it does look like it has potential to be effective. In any case, you wouldn't be disappointed using Confluence.
Pros
Confluence has so much great information for project managers right at their fingertips. It helps plan and coordinate your schedule. It also has AI integrated into it which can be so helpful when you are at a crossroads. Templates are simple yet effective.
Cons
The only thing I will say is that since this software is not as big as other major websites and information sources, it can have a lack of information, as well as having outdated sites and sources. However, this is not true of all information available.

Overall, it is a great tool with really great features and different capabilities that have allowed my team to really lean into content management. Would recommend this to other companies!
Pros
Confluence is our go-to content management and knowledge based tool. The ability to create spaces by team or departments is really useful and my favorite feature is the ability to give permission by page instead of just by space. We have a main team focused on maintaining our knowledge base, but it's helpful that we can also assign unique individuals who are subject matter experts to also help that team update the content.
Cons
At times it feels like Confluence may be a bit too robust. It's a great content management system, but can sometimes over complicate a search for a particular page. It can take some time to locate the page you are looking because so many results pop up. You have to weed through the results to find the one you're seeking.

It's alright and gets the job done. If it's only use was task management I'm sure it would be amazing. They've got a ways to go as far as the Knowledge base looks.
Pros
I like that it has all the required features of document management and IT loves that it connects well and integrates with their systems
Cons
The look of the website from the user standpoint is a bit bland. It looks "clunky" and outdated compared to more modern user interfaces.

I do not find myself going back to our knowledge base very often because I am typically part of the initial user training on new products and I take my own notes, But that is the beauty of the product. Even after long gaps in using the software I am able to go back into it and be productive and that is what I want in a knowledge base tool.
Pros
Its ease of use and low barriers of entry
Cons
Confluence is just a little different in how it accomplish a task, when compared to SharePoint, which means that a user well versed in SharePoint may struggle a little more than a newbie, just because they need to unlearn a few processes, which often makes those long term SharePoint users a little disenchanted by the product, but once they get over the learning curve, user acceptance on the product is very high.

A fanstastic product
Reviewed on 9/01/2024
Pros
This is my favourite product from the Atlassian suite. I would choose it again and again, over any similar product. I have used some products which have a slight edge in some areas like text editing and document discovery but Confluence is such a strong all-rounder that it's hard to justify switching away from it.
Cons
There are two flaws with Atlassian products in my view, and both of them come down to usage. It's very easy for a lot of junk to be created in Confluence and it's not that easy to clean up. The other is installing lots of fancy plugins and extensions, which can easily slow down the system. Choose wisely and be prepared to remove plugins that cause problems. Confluence itself though, I have no complaints about.

I use Confluence primarily for project collaboration. I love the ability to create, collaborate and comment on pages and project plans with my team. We can all work together in real time, making updates and changes as needed, and keeping everyone up to date.
Pros
Confluence is quite versatile in that I can use it to create documents, organize a project, collaborate on several projects just to name a few. I also really like that is has dedicated spaces for different teams to work on projects and allows for connection across our teams.
Cons
It can be limited and somewhat hard to use at first. On some of our projects it would be nice to have the ability to add some customization but we have not found a way to do that.
