Employee Scheduling and Time management made easy

Pros

I have used Homebase for employee scheduling and time tracking for 2 years. It has made the job of keeping track of employee availability, leave of absence, and labor so much easier. So I spend more time on the development of other areas of my work.

Cons

Honestly, all the features that I would want are supported by Homebase on different product packages.

Great services and very user friendly interfaces. Far superior to anything recommended by my fanchisor!

Cons

Would like the messaging to have an option to enlarge the "message board" when its being used. Would like to see an easier option/path to temporarily add or reduce an individual's pay or salary

I liked that it allows people to take cash advances from their next payments.

Cons

I didn’t like that the cash advances were only available for USA banks.

It makes my job so easy when it comes to keeping up with employees & tracking their hours. I want to see what the payroll piece will do. While I have a CPA doing my book keeping and doing payroll which cost me 600 monthly for two location. I want to really need to save money.

Pros

I love the way I can manage my employees schedule using Homebase, make schedules, and update pricing. The Clover is the best POS system since sliced bread.

Cons

I want to use HR, but it's too high for me at this time. I need to get a employee hand book completed and I have yet to do it and I've been using Homebase to almost 9 years.

Scheduling and posting jobs was very easy!

Cons

Sometimes the app wouldn't show that someone had privately messaged - group chats always showed up though so it was a bit odd

I have been using Homebase for a year or two. I tried cutting expenses and using Jobber but it was much more work. I use Homebase to let the employees know when they are expected in and when they should clock out by. Because we are on the road it is only estimated. Homebase lets me put in a shift/run and Jobber gives them the program ordered. It’s like Homebase is an outline and Jobber is the report.

Pros

1. Easy to use. 2. Calculates estimated hours. 3. Easy to move things around.
4. Posts easy. 5. Time clock. 6. Time sheets. 7. Record keeping

Cons

New Update with light markings and no lines. Makes me feel like I’m blind feeling my way around hoping to find the right button. Dark mode might make it better but I like to make it bolder.

Reasons for Switching to Homebase

Jobber has a schedule issue. It has many hoops to go through to get a “run” or shift together. It does a good job with the customer end but not the employee end. I need to tell the employee when to come into work to prepare for the “job”. I can’t leave that up to the employee. If I screw up then it’s on me but I’d rather not leave that up to the employee to screw up.

Its a well integrated software for scheduling and time clock monitoring as well as payroll functionality. It has some unfortunate quirks, but none that outweigh the benefits of the app.

Pros

Its very intuitive and easy to navigate. Online connectivity makes it easy for multiple managers to use it for specific roles.

Cons

Homebase "updated" their online scheduling and now its more cumbersome to use - multiple refreshes are necessary to keep up with changes (its frustrating)

Pros

I love homebase! I can keep track of my schedule, hours,paycheck and all kinds of other things through the app! It's perfect!

Cons

The only thing I don't really like is the cash out feature. It uses plaid to link banks and cards but all of the cards I use are not supported.

We have a connectivity issue everyday. This is a hassle, because the employees do not notify the business office and we find out about later. The employee usually remembers the time, but if they don't we use other measures for the time.

Honestly, streamlining the process of scheduling of employees was my major challenge as a newbie. With time and the help of Homebase software, I have made this one of my pillars in building a popular business in the market with the increasing need for a more efficient way to schedule employees. It simplifies the process and lets you handle all your scheduling needs in one place. It also helps in improving visibility when it comes to staffing by replacing traditional methods which were notoriously inefficient.

Cons

In project management, I have realized that it is hard to see the available members for optimization of team's utilization. Otherwise, I like the tool.

Overall we love homebase. We started out using it as a test with just 1 location now we use it for 9 different businesses. Some of them have office staff, some remote/traveling staff that use GPS on app clock in/clock out and some have staff that clock in when they get to work using on location computers. It couldn't be quicker to set up and get started and the fact that you have a forever schedule history is an awesome feature. Plus depending on the features you need - you can try it out for free (as in free free - their starting price point is zero)

Pros

Simple interface, quick timesheet edits and complete edit/history tracking for all changes made to anything in their system.

Cons

The applicant tracking and job posting system is terrible. No app integration, mixed up listings if you have multiple businesses with different names, only one landing page listing jobs for all your locations combined...the list goes on. Skip this unless you are only one location or all of your businesses share the same brand/name.

Have been blessed with the ability to utilize a free app that allows me to schedule crew members & allows them to message each other if schedules need to change. Our volunteer ambulance agency also frequently holds training for other departments, meaning that I can add crew members/roles while I have students & then can remove them once classes are completed. Other apps that I have used had caps on the number of persons allowed to be added & even after deleting a person they still counted on the total number, meaning I couldn't add anybody else.

Pros

Allows volunteer ambulance team members to communicate & monitor schedule on the go. If an emergency happens we can communicate with each other remotely.

Cons

Messages are at times delayed. I don't "blame" Homebase due to the quality of our cell service in our area has been poor the past few months.

Scheduling- it’s easy to request time off, pick up shifts, drop or trade shifts.
